Retailers
Which retailer is best for buying your new Kamado Joe? It may not come down to just pricing with retailers offering individual membership programs and reward discounts. Scroll down to see why each retailer was selected and see if it benefits you most to shop there. My #1 choice when shopping for my BBQ needs is the BBQGuys. It is a one stop shop and with price matching they can't be beat. Jump to their section if you want to skip the rest. They also offer a rewards program for 3 points for every dollar spent which ends up being 3% on the dollar. So by buying the Classic II and signing up you will get nearly $40 reward dollars.
Ace Hardware
Why Ace?
The neighborhood hardware store. They may carry a model on the floor at your local ACE. My local ACE does not carry them on display. If you aren't a rewards member it's $5 for joining and the purchase of a Big Joe III will net you almost $40.00 in rewards points dollars. Which is enough to grab a bag of lump to cook on your new Kamado.
Bass Pro Shops
Why Bass?
The local outdoor store. If you have one near you you may be able to find a Kamado on display. Bass Pro Club members get 2% rewards back and Bass Pro offers a price match and they will beat the price by 5% as well. Restrictions do apply and it is a credit card membership. So do your research before signing up. If you already are a member then this may be a good option if the price match applies. Lot's of fine print if it's a local store it has to be within 100 miles and only certain online retailers apply. Amazon and Walmart are listed. Flash Sales and Hot Buys are excluded.
Lowes
Why Lowes?
If you have a Lowes by you maybe yours carries a Kamado on display. Mine doesn't. Lowes offers a 10% discount for Veterans(thank you for your service) you can also snag a 10% off coupon with a change of address kit from the post office. The offers do not combine.
The do have a decent selection of accessories, lump and wood chunks.
Home Depot
Why Home Depot?
The other big box home improvement store. My local Depot does not have a Kamado on display. Unless they are offering a sale Lowes is the place to go as you can easily get the 10% mover coupon or if you are a Vet the 10% is guaranteed. Some stores give military discounts but it's not available online so it can be hit or miss at your local store. If you sign up for their credit card you can get $100 dollars off.
They also have a decent selection on BBQ accessories, lump and wood chunks.
Amazon
Why Amazon?
The Giant. It has everything. Some of the products I linked to may be from Amazon.com, Kamadojoe.com itself or VM Express. Pay attention to the small details when ordering from Amazon. Prime does make it fast and easy to order things and their credit card does offer an instant $100 off and 5% savings. Sales will pop up around the holidays from many many different sellers. Check to see if they are authorized dealers.
Ebay
Why Ebay?
Much like Amazon you can find anything. Pay attention to sellers ratings and how much they have actually sold. You also will need to distinguish if it's new, refurbished or used. The links I provided are from highly rated sellers so they may not be the best price found on Ebay. Be wary of hidden shipping or handling fees. Just like Amazon, sales will pop up around the holidays from many many different sellers. Check to see if they are authorized dealers.
BBQ Guys
Why BBQ Guys?
They offer a price match guarantee. They also offer buying guides. They carry a wide variety of the Joe, including the Pro Joe. (currently sold out) For fuel they have premium types of lump like FOGO and Jealous Devil. This truly is a one stop shop. They also offer a rewards program for 3 points for every dollar spent which ends up being 3% on the dollar. So by buying the Classic II and signing up you will get nearly $40 reward dollars. They even have outdoor TVs. I guess it's true what they say, you save the best for last.
